Choose the best: President Biden stated he is going to add a female black as the next Supreme Court justice. How many equally or more qualified people of any gender or race will get bypassed? What happened to hiring the best? That’s what we as Americans should demand. In no way am I implying that a black female would be unable to perform the required duties but to close down so many other candidates is problematic in a position that has the potential to affect so many lives. Not very logically thought out.
‘Medicine for Dummies”: I could be wrong but I seriously doubt that ignoring a disease to make it go away has ever been taught in any credible med school. The undoing of the mask mandate in Illinois public schools, no matter how tempting, seems only appropriate in a book titled “Medicine for Dummies.”
Confusing the kids: There is a fight to determine what is best for our children when it comes to masking. A recent study indicated this has resulted in a mental disruption for our children. What is not being concentrated on is the confusion the parents created for the child. How can a child understand what is best for them when a parent insist they need not ware a mask even though studies indicate it could benefit them and those they encounter? Eventually accepting the mask requirement would have been second nature without ramifications if we could just follow commonsense.
Hard to understand: WTH happened? Rayan, the 5-year-old Moroccan boy trapped in a well, was conscious, talking, drinking. (His death is) heartbreaking.
Follow the money: Look up Joe Manchin’s and Krysten Sinema’s net worth. They are $8 million and over $1 million respectively. His money is from the West Virginia coal industry, of course. Hers is an Arizona question. By the way, does your house have gold chairs like Trump’s? Right, they’re just good folks like the rest of us.
Objectionable ads: A previous commenter complained about the obscene carrot commercial on TV. I complained about it to ABC 7 and also about the nudity in a commercial for Fort Lauderdale. These are aired during the afternoon and evening newscasts. I’m an adult and I object. Do only adults watch the news?
