If you feel in any way dejected about the outcome of the Super Bowl, at least you didn’t lose nearly $10 million on it.
Jim McIngvale — better known to the world as “Mattress Mack” — placed a total of $9.5 million in wagers on two separate bets on the Bengals to win Super Bowl 2022.
His bets were placed with the Bengals having odds of 1.7-to-1 to win the game outright.
Mattress Mack, a furniture salesman in Texas, would’ve earned a profit of $16.15 million, meaning the outcome of those tense final minutes of the championship game had more than a $25 million swing for him (as he would’ve also gotten his original stake back had he won).

“I figure it’s more of a toss-up,” McIngvale told ESPN earlier this week about his rationale for betting on the underdogs to win outright. “It could come down to a final field goal, like a lot of these exciting playoff games.”
Mattress Mack sure was right about the game being a coin flip. Unfortunately for him, said coin flip went the wrong way.
It’s going to be hard for him to avoid seeing things like that questionable holding call on Cooper Kupp that went against Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson — plus Aaron Donald being a general menace disrupting Joe Burrow — in his nightmares.
