Active Covid-19 cases in Karnataka cross 10,000 for first time since October 10
The number of active Covid-19 cases in Karnataka, which has been consistently declining since September 2021, has breached the 10,000-mark again, for the first time since October 10. The number of patients under treatment had continued to dip from September 2021, touching 8,644 on October 31 and 6,574 on December 1, 2021. By January 1, 2022, however, such cases stood at 9,386, crossing the 9,000 mark for the first time since mid-October 2021 before reaching 10,292 on Sunday.

551 Covid vaccination centres designated for children, says Kerala health minister
State Health Minister Veena George said, “Out of the 1426 total vaccination centres, 551 centres are exclusive for children. Covaxin doses will be administered to children and we have installed pink board outside all the centres, which are exclusive children. There are over 15 lakh children, who are eligible for Covid-19 jabs in the State.”

There is no community spread (of Omicron variant) in Kerala. Out of 152 Omicron cases, 50 are from high-risk countries, 84 are from low-risk countries, & only 18 are their contacts. At present, there is nothing to worry about
