Kerala logged 5,754 fresh Coivd-19 cases, including 37 health workers, and 49 deaths on Friday, taking the total affected in the state to 50,89,849 and the toll to 37,051. Among the districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases on Friday–1,109, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 929 and Kozhikode with 600 cases, the health department said in a release.

Mumbai on Friday reported 238 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, a civic official said. It took the infection tally of the metropolis to 7,60,738 and death toll to 16,302. With 272 people discharged from hospitals, the recovery count rose to 7,39,075, which is 97 per cent of the caseload. It left the country’s financial capital with 2,808 active cases, the official said. As many as 33,273 samples were examined for coronavirus infection since Thursday evening, raising the number of tests conducted so far in Mumbai to 1,20,71,185.

Nashik adds 57 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

The Covid-19 count in Nashik district of Maharashtra rose to 4,11,835 with an addition of 57 new cases on Friday, while two more patients succumbed to the infection, a health department official said. The virus claimed two more lives in the last 24 hours, which took the death toll in the district to 8,700, he said. Also, 32 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, pushing the number of recovered cases to 4,02,664, the official said. As many as 28,16,569 swab samples have been tested so far in the district, of which 4,154 were examined in the last 24 hours, he added.

UK to add booster doses to Covid vaccine pass for travel
