Hey, at least it was close. We are also now just three games away from being put out of our misery. Three weeks from now, Jets fans can enjoy their Sundays again. Go out with the fam, with friends or by yourself to brunch. Take a walk. Go bowling. Watch playoff football. Read a book. Meditate. Enjoy yourself. But for now, it’s still watching the losses pile up. At least this time, the Jets took it down to the wire in their 31-24 loss to the Dolphins in Miami.

To talk about the game, the draft order getting tighter and what we saw from Zach Wilson in a losing effort, we bring you a new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and yours truly. I had a one-on-one with Brandon Tierney in the second half of the show to talk Jets and his transition to hosting on WFAN with Tiki Barber at the start of 2022.

Gang’s All Here Podcast with Jake & Coz:

  • WILSON/MIMS: Zach Wilson was mediocre Sunday. He had a few fantastic plays: the throw to Ryan Griffin, the run for a first down and the reverse throw after a completion from Jamison Crowder to Braxton Berrios. He also took too long at times in the pocket to get rid of it. Coz says the Jets need to trade Denzel Mims in the offseason. He needs a change of scenery.
  • JETS RUN DEFENSE: This team continues to be terrible against the run. A no-namer returning home lit up the Jets defense for 106 yards and a TD. They badly need help up front in the offseason — on top of the secondary help they need. Elijah Riley luckily was ok after a scary injury where he was rolled off the field on a stretcher and backboard.
  • RAMEN NOODLE HOODIE/SODA/DRAFT ORDER: We dissect my unique Ramen noodle hoodie and the other versions of it I bought. We laugh at the Jetsian decision by the Giants to give out free medium sodas for Fan Appreciation Day. We also look ahead at the draft order and how it could shake out after the toilet bowl between the Jets and Jaguars next week.

Brandon Tierney Interview:
“Tiki & Tierney” on WFAN debuts Jan. 3 10am-2pm

  • WFAN: Excitement of coming to WFAN at start of 2022, being a New York sports fan and what this means.
  • TIKI: Working with Tiki and potentially getting calls from angry Giants fans. Defending his comments from back in the day about Eli.
  • WILSON/LAFLEUR: Evaluating the growth from Wilson and how the pieces around him have an impact. Mike LaFleur’s move upstairs has made a drastic difference.
