Shortly after the Centre announced that two cases of the Omicron variant have been detected in the state, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, who was in Delhi on Thursday, called on Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and discussed administering booster dose of the vaccine to health workers.
“We have enough stock of vaccine doses and the drive is going on well. Since we want to administer booster dose to health workers and frontline warriors to start with, I asked the Union minister and he said the Centre will convey its decision after consulting the expert committee,” Bommai said.
Till then, the CM said the health minister asked the state government to keep a strict vigil on people coming to Karnataka from Kerala and Tamil Nadu where more Covid cases are being reported.
