Kerala Bound Bus From Odisha Meets With Accident In AP, 33 Passengers Injured

As many as 33 persons sustained injuries after a tourist bus in which they were travelling in met with an accident on NH-5 near Ranasarak in Srikakulam area of neigbouring Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning.

According to sources, the mishap took place when the ill-fated bus from Odisha with 47 passengers on board was on its way to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The driver of the bus dozed off at steering wheel and the vehicle hit a truck leaving the passengers injured, sources added.

The injured were rushed to RIMS hospital in Visakhapatnam by highway ambulance. Of the 33 injured, condition of one passenger is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

Earlier in the day, one person was killed and another sustained critical injury after an iron-laden trailer fell off a bridge over Brahmani river near Kamagara in Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district on Saturday.
