All three of the running backs on the Dolphins’ active roster have tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple reports.

Myles Gaskin (154 attempts) and Salvon Ahmed (54 attempts) were each placed on Miami’s COVID-19 list during the bye week after testing positive, per multiple reports. And Phillip Lindsay (12 attempts), who missed Miami’s last game due to an ankle injury, also tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.

It is possible they could clear the NFL’s protocols for returning to action in time to play against the Jets on Sunday, but it’s not a guarantee for any of the players.

Malcolm Brown (33 attempts) remains on injured reserve and has missed the last six games due to a quad injury.

On Monday, coach Brian Flores said he is “hopeful” that Brown will practice this week. Miami’s first day back from the bye was a walk-through.

Lindsay, who was signed after he was let go by the Houston Texans, had 12 carries for 42 yards against the Panthers in his Dolphins debut. Lindsay had been signed after he was let go by the Texans.

Running back Patrick Laird (1 carry) was recently placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. This leaves practice squad member Duke Johnson (4 attempts) as the only veteran running back for sure on track to be available Sunday. Miami could also elevate rookie running back Gerrid Doaks.

Miami has struggled to run this season. Gaskin is averaging 3.4 yards per carry and Ahmed only 2.8. But each player has proven capable as a pro running back who can also be a receiving threat for Tua Tagovailoa.

NFL WEEK 14 WINNERS, LOSERS: Tom Brady is still setting records. Packers continue to own the Bears.

Miami planned to work out Lamar Miller, 30, who averaged 4.6 yards per carry for the Dolphins from 2012-15. Miller hasn’t had an NFL carry since 2018.

Flores said the Dolphins worked out several backs.

In other injury news, Flores said Will Fuller is not expected to work this week. Flores declined to add any details when asked if there is an issue beyond a finger injury.

“He’s not going to be at practice,” Flores said. “We’ll take it day-to-day and week-to-week. I’m not going to get into any specifics about his situation.”

Flores said starting center Michael Deiter, who was seen in a walking boot last Wednesday, should be ready to practice this week.
