Mumbai records 1,377 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The city had reported 809 fresh infections on Dec 27.

Delhi reports 496 positive cases in a single day, highest since June 4.

The city also reported one death. Active cases have jumped to 1,612 — up from 1,289 on Dec 27. The Capital had reported 331 fresh cases yesterday.

Omicron infection has been confirmed in two persons in Puducherry. An 80-year-old man and a 20-year-old man have been diagnosed with the variant: G. Sriramulu, Director Health, Puducherry UT.

Karnataka govt restricts private hospitals from following the open vial policy, in the recently issued guidelines.

As per the notification, private hospitals will not be allowed to reuse vials once opened. Once opened, a vial will have to be used within 4 hours itself.
