Pre-Poll Violence: Balasore BJP Worker Stabbed A Day Before Voting, Hospitalised

A supporter of BJP suffered serious cut injuries after he was allegedly stabbed by a group of youths in Jaleswar area of Balasore district on Wednesday. Voting in Jaleswar municipality is going to be held tomorrow.  

BJP worker from Ward No-10 of Jaleswar Municipality, Rajeswar Andiya was standing near a temple this evening when some youths allegedly attacked him with knives. The attackers also hit him with bricks on his head. 

Locals rushed to the area after hearing the screams of Rajeswar. He was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to Jaleswar Community Health Centre. He was later shifted to Balasore district headquarters hospital after his condition worsened.

While the identity of the miscreants involved in the stabbing could not be ascertained immediately, the BJP alleged that BJD workers were behind the attack.
