Three New Orissa High Court Judges Sworn In
Three newly-appointed judges of the Orissa High Court took oath on Monday. They were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice S Muralidhar.
The new justices are V. Narasingh, Biraja Prasanna Satapathy and Murahari Sri Raman. The oath-taking ceremony was a simple one, observed in accordance with the Covid-19 guidelines.
With these appointments, the total number of judges in the Orissa High Court has increased to 21.
Last week, the notification with respect to the appointment of the three judges was published. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended four names on January 29. Subsequently, the Ministry of Law and Justice finalised three names and issued a formal notification.
