Forbes Magazine, one of the world’s leading publications on finance and investing, has unveiled a preview of its Virtual NFT Billionaires today! The 100-piece collection is the first of its kind in the media industry, and is a sign of Forbes’ embrace of Web3 and NFTs.

What exactly are the Virtual NFT Billionaires from Forbes?
To sum up, the Forbes Virtual NFT Billionaires are fictional investors. Each Virtual NFT Billionaire has a huge portfolio that is based on live New York Stock Exchange prices. In addition, each of these characters has unique hobbies, as well as an eccentric Forbes accessory. These will be ranked every day on an upcoming list.
What’s more, Forbes Virtual NFT Billionaires will have their own profile page on the Forbes website. Goodog & ItsACat, a group of 2D and 3D animators, have created custom illustrated headshots for each profile. Not only that but the public wallet addresses of the current owners of each NFT will be listed on the official ranking on Forbes as well.
Chief Technology Officer of Forbes, Vadim Supitskiy, said about the collection, “The launch of this collection is an important step as Forbes embraces Web3 and digital assets, and it provides an opportunity for our audience to better engage in this space too.”
The initial drop will feature 100 NFTs. Forbes will be launching these ERC-721 tokens in partnership with FTX on April 13. However, Forbes subscribers get early access to the collection, today, April 11.
All things considered, this is a really interesting new collection. Notably the theme of the collection ties in very well with the overall brand. While this isn’t the first global magazine brand to launch into the space, Forbes is going about it in a unique way. It is easy to imagine how the public leaderboard could lead to some really interesting movement on the secondary market.
