Feb. 9, 10:50 a.m. A wildfire broke out in Marin County north of Stinson Beach on Wednesday morning but posed no threat to surrounding communities, officials said.
The Canyon Fire started near Audubon Canyon off Shoreline Highway, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

Flames had spread across 2 acres of difficult-to-access heavy timber, the sheriff posted on Twitter at 9:24 a.m.
Additional resources were requested to help fight flames, Marin County Fire Department said at 9:25 a.m. A helicopter was helping fight flames after 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Highway 1 remained open as of 10:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
