This is kind of interesting from a legal perspective.
a) He booked a show knowing he wouldn’t attend it. Even if his intention was to refund tickets, he took people’s money, deprived them of its time value, under knowingly false pretenses.
b) He booked a show unaware that attending would mean revealing his vaccination status, and IS vaccinated. He would then be making a deliberate choice not to attend when nothing is actually stopping him. Presumably the venue, promoter, etc. would all have something legally significant to say about that in the vein of “you owe us”. He isn’t making best efforts to attend, he isn’t making reasonable efforts to attend, he isn’t even cancelling for reasonable reasons. He is deliberately not going to attend because he doesn’t want to reveal the fact that he has been bamboozling his fans and putting their lives at risk. In a court that’s a pretty shitty reason for failing to meet your contractual obligations.
c) He booked a show unaware that he needs to be vaccinated to enter canada, and he isn’t. Again, not being vaccinated is not a reasonable position and unless the contracts gave him pretty broad discretion to just blow off the show for any dang reason he wanted, there is a lawsuit, though this one is a boring one.
