NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Thursday.
Shares of Abbott India(up 2.76 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.95 per cent), Lupin(up 1.53 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.4 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.95 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Ipca Laboratories(down 2.04 per cent), Granules India(down 1.7 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 1.42 per cent), Laurus(down 1.01 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.91 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.41 per cent up at 13815.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 168.1 points at 17639.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 575.46 points at 59034.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JP Power and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Shree Ren Sug, Vaishali Pharma, Uma Exports Ltd., AMD Industries and BLS Int. Services hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Debock Sales & Mktg, Shakti Pumps, Innovative Tyres & T and Shri Ram Switchgears hit their fresh 52-week lows.
