I would have clapped back saying “bullshit” to his face. Then before he can get a lick back, I would say “What’s your full name? If you aren’t the list of people the Queen knighted, then I will for now on, only call you ‘sport’ or ‘little buddy’ “.
Then again, my boss would never act that way. Nor would my CEO. Nor would the President.
I would go as far as to say if someone they were with acted like that to me, they would respond with “well, is he on the list or not”.
Then again, that’s the perk of working for a smaller organizations (compared to the industry). There is little disconnect from the higher-ups and us pleabs.
